We require a Senior Design Engineer for a Birmingham based precision presswork company.
Duties:
Management of the design office including design engineer and trainees, management of office resources
Responsible for the design process from initial customer concept to component manufacture
Use of Solidworks 3D and ME10 – 2D technology to produce technical drawings and documentation for press tool development and manufacture
Produce CAM electronic data processing for CNC machines
Liaising with customers and internal departments including sales and marketing and tool room
Provide technical support for customer cost estimates
Providing support to the Technical and Manufacturing Operations Manager and deputising when required
Compliance with legislative design standards and health and safety requirements
Development and maintenance of a standard parts database
Experience and Qualifications:
Experience of progression tungsten carbide press tool design
Bench toolmaking experience with progressive press tools
CAD experience preferably including Solidworks 3D and ME10 – 2D
Previous experience in a supervisory / management role
HND or above in Manufacturing or Design Engineering
CAM experience
CNC machining experience preferred
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Salary is negotiable and can be discussed on application.
