CDM Co-ordinator – Award winning Consultancy - Health and Safety
The Company
A long established award-winning, international practice of property and construction consultants are currently seeking a CDM Co-ordinator to become a key member of the Health and Safety team. Operating from 40 offices worldwide with UK head office based in Croydon, this company have been involved with some of the largest and highest profile construction projects in the world. Their services include Cost Management, Project Management, Health and Safety Consultancy and Facilities Management Consultancy.
The Role
As CDM Coordinator you will be a key member of the small but busy Health and Safety Team, based in Head Office in Croydon.
The CDM Coordinator will be a key advisor on all construction health, safety and risk management matters on a range of construction projects and will provide the full scope of the CDM role.
Key responsibilities:
•Act as the Clients key advisor in respect of construction health and safety risk management matters.
•Co-ordinate health and safety aspects of design
•Co-operate with project teams
•Provide the HSE with information applicable to the project
Essential Requirements
•Trained in CDM regulation
•Minimum NEBOSH Construction Certificate (Safety) and Surveying/Design/Architecture (technical) qualification
•Membership of the Association for Project Safety (APS) or the Institute of Occupational Safety & Health
Knowledge and Experience
•Experience as a CDM coordinator within a consultancy environment. Must be able to be client facing and carry out the role of CDMC alongside some Health and Safety consultancy projects.
•Good oral and written communication skills and the ability to manage CDM information both internally and externally.
•Maintain and build relationships with a variety of Clients.
•Able to interpret design briefs and identify, collate and present information which defines project risks.
•Competent to evaluate construction plans against project requirements.
•Co-ordinate design information during construction phases.
•Produce and maintain user friendly health and safety files.
•Detailed knowledge of the CDM Regulations 2007.
•Experienced in design and construction management processes.
Key Skills:
•Proactive approach with the ability to work with a minimum of supervision and be able to use own initiative.
•Confident and experienced in attending meetings with designers, third party liaison and client liaison.
•Excellent report writing skills.
•Ability to undertake site inspections and be able to prepare safety documents.
•Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to manage relationships effectively.
