Role
The Integration Engineer is a new role in a new and evolving group within our client. Reporting to the Director of Offshore Development, the successful candidate will be instrumental in driving the group\'s first software development and SQA projects to success with a new Agile team of developers and a recently established SQA team, both based offshore.
This will require you to harden their broad skills in project management, requirements analysis, software and test design, and hands-on development. It will also demand excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively and authoritatively with teams of engineers and testers working in different time-zones, guiding them to successful implementation of the designs and test-plans that the you have helped to create around the requirements raised onshore.
As a coach to the offshore teams, you will need to show both maturity and an ability to learn rapidly about our client\'s products, into which the components developed and tested offshore will fit.
Responsibilities
Design – interacting with the onshore R&D team, you will help to build requirement and design specification to satisfy product requirements.
Develop – Track and guide the implementation of our designs by the offshore team.
Develop processes, Web Portals, specifications – all aimed at ensuring the success of the offshore teams. And once you have successfully completed the offshore development project, you will work with the onshore R&D team to ensure successful integration of the results into our products.
Test – you will ensure that testability is built into our designs and into the ongoing implementation. You will work with the offshore SQA team to ensure that a competent test plan is developed for new features being developed both offshore and onshore. You will also be actively involved in ensuring ongoing validation of future product releases and will encourage ongoing SQA improvements.
Required Skills
Demonstrable Software and Test analysis and design skills
Project management knowledge and capability
Existing knowledge of our client\'s products or capability of acquiring the knowledge quickly
Able to read and write formal design documents
Several years relevant working experience as either a software developer or a support engineer
Development technologies & tools
o C# and ASP.Net : AJAX
o Visual Studio
o VBScript and/or JavaScript
o XML
o Web GUI development
Experience in any of the following areas would be a significant plus:
o Java experience
o C++ (with STL)
o Agile development methods
o Distributed systems
o Databases (MySQL, SQL Server)
o IIS
o Mobile technologies (protocols, applications)
o Test automation concepts and tools
o Internet protocols and formats – particularly WWW and Media related
