An Ingres Developer is required to work in Bicester, Oxfordshire. The candidate should have strong Ingres ABF development experience and good SQL knowledge.
The main responsibilities are:-
Design and code system enhancements.
Carry out unit testing of program deliverables.
Carry out peer reviews of program units produced by other members of the development team.
Produce documentation to agreed product descriptions and formats, using approved toolsets. This will include technical and environment specifications, system guides, and user documentation.
Assist Testers so that they can gain the necessary understanding of system behaviour to enable efficient and effective independent testing to be carried out.
Confirms and prioritizes project plans and deliverables with the customer.
Understands and uses appropriate tools to analyze, identify and resolve business/technical problems.
Applies metrics to monitor performance and measure key project criteria.
Establishes and maintains security, integrity and business continuity controls and documents.
Assists information engineers on application of specialized knowledge to coding, testing, implementation and documentation projects.
Desirable
Report writing skills.
HP Unix shell scripting.
HP Unix operating system.
SC Security Cleared: (can commence on a BC level of clearance)
